Diagnostic Services
Early identification leads to earlier support, and we are here to help you navigate every step of the process.
Our ABA Evaluation Program
Our Comprehensive Diagnostic Services
If you’ve noticed that your child communicates differently, struggles with social interactions, or has behaviors that seem difficult to explain, you may be wondering whether autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is part of the picture. Getting a formal diagnosis is an important step, not to label your child, but to understand them better and connect them with the support they need.
The Behaviorists offers comprehensive diagnostic services for ASD in children in South Florida. Our evaluations are conducted by qualified professionals trained to assess the full spectrum of autism presentation, from subtle social differences to more pronounced developmental needs.
Please note that we do not provide initial diagnostic assessments. If you have not yet received a formal diagnosis from a qualified healthcare professional, such as a pediatrician, neurologist, or psychologist, we recommend scheduling an appointment with one before seeking our services.
Expert Care at The Behaviorists
Why Early Diagnosis Matters
Research is clear: the earlier ASD is identified, the earlier intervention can begin, and early intervention is associated with significantly better outcomes across communication, social development, and independence.
We’ve seen firsthand how life-changing it can be for a family to finally have answers. A diagnosis opens doors: to services, to resources, to a community of others who understand, and to a treatment plan designed around your child’s actual needs rather than guesswork.
Compassionate ABA Therapy

- Feedback session – a detailed conversation with your family about findings, diagnosis (if applicable), and recommended next steps
Experts Who Care
What Happens After a Diagnosis?
Receiving an autism diagnosis for your child can bring up a wide range of emotions, relief, uncertainty, grief, hope, or all of these at once. We want you to know that you are not alone, and that a diagnosis is a beginning, not an ending.
Because The Behaviorists offers both diagnostic and ABA therapy services, families who receive a diagnosis through us can transition directly into treatment with minimal delay. Your evaluating clinician will work with your child’s BCBA to ensure the treatment plan reflects everything learned during the assessment process.
For families who already have a provider, we are also happy to provide diagnostic reports that can be shared with other professionals and used to access school-based services, insurance benefits, and community resources.
Trusted Care That Makes a Difference
Who Can Be Evaluated?
We provide diagnostic evaluations for children and individuals up to age 22. While our clinical focus is on early diagnosis, particularly for toddlers and young children showing early signs of ASD, we also evaluate older children and adolescents who may not have been identified earlier.
Common signs that may prompt a referral for evaluation:
- Limited or delayed speech and language development
- Difficulty making or maintaining eye contact
- Challenges with social interaction or understanding social cues
- Repetitive behaviors, routines, or intense, narrow interests
- Sensory sensitivities (over- or under-responsiveness to sound, touch, light, etc.)
- Difficulty with transitions or unexpected changes
- Regression in previously acquired skills

Testimonials
Stories of Progress, Growth, and Transformation
The Behaviorists have helped my child integrate in being able to accept changes and when something is not available. He is overall a happier more regulated child
Changes in his behavior have helped him advance tremendously in his academics (where he was most struggling bc of his difficulties maintaining his focus/attention). They have also helped him improve his social skills and create more meaningful relationships with his peers.
His RBT doesn't give up on him and maintains goals and continues to push him. Very thankful for the team
Camille and Emely are absolutely amazing! They advocate for Jordan’s needs while at the same time promoting his independence. Teaching him skills he can implement while on his own have helped him advance academically and socially.
